The highly anticipated Nala Taxi 3-on-3 One Day Cup jersey handover ceremony was held tonight at the Synthetic Track Meeting Room, marking an important step in fostering friendship and unity among Nala Taxi drivers while encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle.
The event was graced by former Maldivian national team goalkeeper and legend Imran Mohamed, who officially handed over the jerseys to the participating players and tournament officials. The ceremony was attended by the President of the Drivers Association of the Maldives, Ibrahim Niaz, along with Nala Taxi management and numerous taxi drivers.
In his address, Imran Mohamed commended the drivers for their dedication and teamwork, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship both on and off the field. He urged all participants to play with passion and uphold the values of fair play.
Speaking at the event, Ibrahim Niaz highlighted the strong bond among nala taxi drivers, describing their relationship as exemplary He also praised Nala Taxi’s management, which is committed to listening to and supporting their drivers.
The Nala Taxi 3 on 3 One Day Cup is set to kick off on February 21, 2025, at the Hulhumale’ Phase 2 Football Ground. The tournament features 15 matches and is structured into two competitive groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.
Group A: Vathakuthoali, Hirundhu, Team Antenna, and FC Riders.
Group B: Americano, Kokky, Bulhaa, and Valhi.
